MSN group or irc chat?

I am just thinking if it would be better if we have a MSN group and/or irc channel so that there's instant messaging between the DJs in terms of coordination and stuff.

the chat system on radio12345 is really bad and even exposes "private" discussions to potential listeners.

I don't know how this one will turn out nor how to set up an irc channel, but I am just suggesting a more convenient place for DJs to pop into to check if there's any time based announcements from other people.

The e-mail address I used to make the site is for MSN, so if it helps, we can use that and I can give the password!

with one address alone we couldn't held a group conversation, let alone leaving note for other DJs

actually it would be. The messagers are slowly merging together, so the active DJ could use the Vocaradio e-mail account, and the non-active DJ's could use their regular accounts.

This way, the active DJ could still read any in coming e-mail request wise.

so in other words, you would like the DJs to provide their contact emails?

that's not a bad idea, but what i mean is a place to leave notices so other people can see it even if they go online later.
right now I'm using the chat on the radio site as the message board, but I'm wondering if there's gonna be an official one that's central and easy access.

Well if leaving messages for offline people then forums are diffidently the way to go.

The reason being is because
A.MSN Fails VERY often with offline messages.
B.IRC would be tricky to get people to remember to check.

Some people will get busier as the days go by, and if they can only check messages 2-3 times a week when there are 4-5 messages a week, they may miss something important. At least this way, things are archived, so they really don't have an excuse.

so you wouldn't find forum slow and clunky?

oh well, i'll just start another thread for general message board then, though I doubt DJ would actually check here often for time-based emergencies/notices.

Not at all. I'm at work often and between a roleplay forum I am on. my RPG project in RPG maker XP and work again, I find myself finding this place at a rather well tempo.

Hm, should I send notes to everyone (though I'm not sure my mass-notes get sent to all of the DJs) telling them that we're going to use a MSN messenger to chat?
